Dr. L.K. Schlasinger

Dr. Schlasinger is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Growing up in Georgia, Dr. Schlasinger was surrounded by pets – multiple dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, mice, even a lizard. It’s not surprising that at 13 she knew she would be a veterinarian. She began working in a veterinary hospital at 18 and has tackled every job from cleaning cages to answering phones. Dr. S realizes the bond we share with our pets is significant – often stronger than a relationship with another person. Shortly after earning her veterinary degree, Dr. S moved to Cincinnati where she met her husband. Together they have two daughters and two beagles, Abbie and Archie. Dr. S enjoys spending time with her family, particularly on boating trips to Lake Cumberland.

Dr. D.P. Krumanaker

Dr. Krumanaker is a graduate of Princeton University and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to dogs and cats, she treats birds, reptiles and small mammals.

Dr. K is MAH’s 4th independent owner and hospital director. She imagined becoming a veterinarian when she was just 5 years old. She worked for several small animal clinics before pursuing her dream and earning her medical degree. Dr. K loves handling animals of all shapes and sizes and finds particular satisfaction in helping maintain the bond between people and their pets. Dr. K and her husband have two children, two guinea pigs, and a black lab named Molly. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, and gardening. An avid singer, she is a member of the Young Professionals Choral Collective. She works to ensure that MAH maintains its prestigious AAHA accreditation, which it has earned continuously since 1950.

Dr. Curtis

Dr. Curtis is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

As a child, Dr. Curtis used to dream of being Steve Irwin. As an adult, she landed on the next best thing: being a veterinarian! She graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Zoology in 2017, and then again with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Her special interests include dentistry, nutrition, and behavior in dogs and cats. She is also Fear Free certified and USDA accredited. At home, Dr. Curtis and her partner have a dog named Rosie and a cat named Roo. When not at work, she enjoys spending her time hiking, traveling, exercising, drawing, and reading.

Dr. Ziemba

Dr. Ziemba is a graduate of the University of Findlay and University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Ziemba is a Cincinnati native who ventured from his hometown to pursue higher education at the University of Findlay and University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Z prides himself on having converted his Chicago-born wife to a Skyline Chili fan as well as his fear-free certification that he utilizes to provide low stress visits for his clients and patients. Dr. Z brings a mixture of general practice and emergency experience as well as a love for dermatology. With three dogs that love hiking and two cats that seem to only love his wife, Dr. Z typically can be found enjoying the outdoors with his two most adventurous pups – Fitz and Melon.

Meet Our Veterinary Technicians

Kelly, Connor, Ray, Belle and Morgan are our rockstar veterinary technicians. They are responsible for all the nursing care your pet needs and are a wealth of information to answer all your questions from what your pet needs during a wellness visit to weight loss strategies to managing long term conditions like diabetes.

Kelly Wedig, RVT

Kelly is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, Department of Veterinary Technology.

Kelly is a Registered Veterinary Technician and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2016. She chose her career because she loves animals and grew up around all different kinds. When Kelly was younger her neighbors allowed her to ride and take care of their horses. She grew up with a labrador named Bear. Kelly and her husband, Michael, have three rescue dogs named Mary, Margarita and Buster. Kelly and Michael love to take their three dogs to the park.

Ray Thomson, RVT

Ray is a graduate of the University of Dayton, Otterbein University, and the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, Department of Veterinary Technology.

Ray’s passion for animals and medicine has led him to a second career in the veterinary field. After a successful business career, he went back to school and graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at the University of Cincinnati and is now a Registered Veterinary Technician. Ray also holds a BA from the University of Dayton and an MBA from Otterbein University. Ray is married and has two adult children. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, running and outdoor activities, and is actively involved with several animal rescue organizations. At home, he is a fur dad to Ripley and Scout, who are both large mixed breed rescue dogs, and Winter, a rescued domestic short hair cat.

Connor Crance, RVT

Connor is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, Department of Veterinary Technology.

Connor is our Medical Staff Manager in addition to her duties as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She makes sure that our medical team performs to AAHA standards of excellence – and that we’re having fun while doing it! Connor’s passion lies in education and she is pursuing a Bachelor of Healthcare Leadership at the University of Cincinnati, and plans to continue her studies at the post-graduate level in Veterinary Education in the near future. She is a diehard little dog lover, even when the feeling isn’t mutual. She has two dogs- Sushi, a pomeranian, and Tuff, a maltese- and 4 cats: Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Samson, and Sabrina. In her free time, Connor loves going to concerts, creating art, and watching horror movies.

Belle Phipps-Bengel

Belle is currently a student with the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash Veterinary Technology Program set to graduate in 2024.

Belle’s grandmother raised her, and based on the guinea pigs, gerbils, birds, and dogs that Belle would bring home, she wasn’t surprised that she landed in Veterinary Medicine as a career. Belle’s goal is to give back to community pets and be a foster for medically vulnerable animals after she graduates in addition to her time in general practice with MAH. Belle currently lives with her husband Peter and their 7 cats, all galactically named Galaxy, Constellation, Nyx, Nox, Lumi(ere), Baby Eclipse, and Chaos. In her free time, she can be found knitting, cross stitching, paper crafting, and diamond painting while watching history and true crime documentaries (when the Bengal’s aren’t playing!)

Morgan Miller, RVT

Morgan is a registered veterinary technician and graduated from Purdue University in 2021.

Morgan’s lifelong love for animals began with volunteering at the local humane society with her mom, nurturing and bottle-feeding kittens until they were ready for adoption. At home, she is a pet parent to two mice, named Poppy and Fern. In her free time Morgan enjoys writing and playing video games.
