Ruby’s dental visit

Ruby (guinea pig) came in for her sedated dental. She is missing a lower incisor and has severe bony changes to the part of the skull above the cheek teeth, and a fragment of that bone that partially detached. We filed her molars so that she can close her mouth properly, and we are continuing antibiotics for another month. She’s not out of the woods yet, but is eating well and happy so we are monitoring to see if she’ll need another surgery or not.
